Who Is Sevante?

Lainie 'Sevanté’ Wulkan is a fourth-generation intuitive. She has been a divination card reader for the last 30 years. New Understanding that Puts an End to Painful Recurrence

Have you ever noticed that you get rid of one person in your life, and you get somebody just like it? Amazing! But you didn't get somebody just like it. You got you again! That's the lesson, isn't it? We should be so tired of pointing our fingers at other people.

So, then what happens? Here I am, fighting with my past, revisiting and revisiting how I was abused, or how somebody broke my heart - trying to get over what happened. And I fight, and I fight to get the condition to go right until at some point, I realize I'm fighting with the wrong thing. I'm trying to make, in my own heart and mind, a reconciliation from a set of conditions that I believed I was apart from.

Then, by grace, I realize, "Ah, no wonder I can't get the condition to go right! I am the condition, and I've refused to accept it. I've refused to see how I am entwined in all of the things that trouble me the way they do." Suddenly I see that what needs to happen here is that I don't need to fix this. I need to be another kind of human being - one who doesn't carry forward the thing that attracted the situation to me and then brings it back again and again. I understand now that what I resist reincarnates.

Believe it or not, there is a part of us that loves resisting because it confirms some order of ourselves that exists to continue that cycle of recalling what we hate or regret. Which means: to make sure you keep getting what you don't want - just resist it. It's all you have to do! It's guaranteed.

Our work as aspirants is to see the nature that produces the cycle of recurrence by becoming aware that the reason we're in some dark place psychologically is because we are asleep in our own consciousness. And if we could just become aware of the whole of ourselves in that moment, we would not be made the suffering subject of a mind that has divided itself between where it is and whatever darkness it's going through.

So, when I come out of the darkness having learned the lesson because a light showed me the whole of the situation, then do I not exit that moment a new order of man or woman? Something is integrated in me. Formerly, something was certain that you, this, or them was the problem. But now I can see that wherever I go, there's the problem!

When we do come awake in such a moment, we actually have not changed the situation that pained us, but we have changed the way in which we see the situation because we have a new understanding about ourselves. Finally, we know that our insistence to keep reliving some pain doesn't change anything. Instead, it makes concrete out of the situation.

So, when you feel pain because you're thinking about someone who hurt you, understand that you are hurting yourself. Your mind is using the object of the image of that person to validate victimizing you. This is the moment it can dawn on us that, "I just spent 40 years on a dark road, fighting with somebody who may not even be alive anymore, and I didn't have to do it!" By a higher order of understanding, we see our former understanding.

Spiritual Respect

The dictionary defines the noun "respect" as the following:

  • The act of respecting or noticing with attention;
  • the act of holding in high esteem; deference or honor;
  • a state of being held in honor or esteem;
    to show consideration for; regard;
  • courteous expression of respect; regards;
    a particular point or detail;
  • partiality; undue bias to the prejudice of justice;
    consideration; motive in reference to something;
  • relation; regard; reference; as in respect for your problem.


These are all meanings of respect on a human level, but how does it apply spiritually? What is spiritual respect? Where does it come from? How and when should you use it?

What is Spiritual Respect?

Spiritual respect is not earned in the sense of what you know or what you achieve on your life path journey. It does not come from judgment, expectation, the need for control, the need to be right, negative emotions like jealousy or worry about what other people think, rationalization, attitudes or feelings on what you want or think "respect" should be. It is not used for personal gain, ego or power. Spiritual respect is a God-given right held by all living things that should be honored, esteemed and regarded by everyone at all times. It is not demanding. It does not encompass judgment from human mores and values. It is the awareness of seeing beyond human limitations and conditions to the positive life force in every living thing.

Where Does It Come From?

  • A deep abiding unshakable Faith
  • Trust
  • Development of an inner knowing
  • Balance of power and energy
  • Positive energy
  • Hope and Charity
  • Grounding, focus and centeredness
  • Experience

How to Use Spiritual Respect?

  • Separate human emotion/physical respect experiences from spiritual respect experience.
  • Use awareness to see beyond human limitations and conditions to the positive life force of every living thing.
    Honor and esteem the uniqueness and energy in every living thing.
  • Act honorably and use gentle regard without judgment To realize that the personal journey of all is a unique process perceived from their own perspective which is their growth path to higher consciousness.
  • Find the positiveness in each situation
  • Walk through fear and judgment
  • Think of the ramifications on all around you before you act.
  • Welcome change as an opportunity
  • Take responsibility for your actions
  • Use the Power of intention and positive thought
    Do not intrude on anyone's free will
  • Balance receiving and giving
  • Self-empower people in their path of self-discovery
  • Use kindness
  • Perceive how people or things will receive your actions, thoughts and feelings
  • Understand that we are all one and make a positive impact on existence through every word, thought and deed.
  • Understand that everything has value
  • Benefit mankind and the world
  • Come from love in all things

How to Develop Spiritual Respect

  • Live in the Moment - not the past or future
  • Let go of judgment
  • Let go of rigid goals and expectation
  • Let go of rationalization
  • Let go of negative thoughts and phrases like can't, shouldn't, wouldn't, if
  • Let go of negative emotions like hate, discrimination, anger, jealousy, hate, self-pity, guilt
  • Develop responsibility for your actions
  • Eliminate fear on all levels
  • Let go of ego Realize there are no secrets
  • Realize there are no mistakes
  • Take care of your body, mind and spirit
  • Reduce the 4 levels of stress in your life (physical, emotional, nutritional and environmental)
  • Practice relaxation
  • Let go of materialism
  • Let go of the need for power
  • Be self-reliant
  • Develop spiritual, ethical and moral values
  • Practice love

When to Use Spiritual Respect.

Every moment, in every aspect of your entire life.

The HealthyLife.net Recipe of the Month


Zatar Lamb

Oven Temperature: 375° F
Cooking Time: 35 minutes per pound; roasting pan

4-5 lb. lamb (rolled)
2 cloves garlic (cut into pieces)
Olive oil
Zatar (spice)
Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Place lamb in roaster. Randomly, throughout the roast, take a knife and make a small slit and insert a piece of garlic.
Brush lemon juice all over the roast. Brush olive oil all over the roast. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
Pat Zatar spice in a thin coating all over the roast. Place in 325° F oven and roast 35 minutes a pound. Serve.

Hint: Zatar is a Mid-Eastern spice mix that is not only flavorful but can act as a natural digestive.

Lamb Gravy

Lamb drippings
3 tablespoons brown flour (or cornstarch)
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
1 ½ - 2 cups boiling water

Take drippings from roasting pan. Add brown flour (or cornstarch.) Add sea salt and black pepper. Whisk in boiling water.
Bring to a boil. Then turn down and simmer until gravy thickens. (You may have to skim off some of the lamb fat on the surface.) Serve immediately.

Fresh Mint Sauce

½ cup lemon juice (or white vinegar)
1 cup water
¼ cup chopped mint leaves
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup water
2 teaspoons maple syrup
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon chopped mint leaves

Combine ¼ cup lemon juice, ½ cup water and mint. Simmer until liquid is reduced to one half. Strain. Add ¼ cup lemon juice, ¼ cup water, maple syrup, sea salt and mint leaves. Stir and chill.
