New Questions That Lead to Self-Wholeness
by Guy Finley - Radio
Host of "Guy Finley Live! "
3rd Tuesday every month, 9am PT
|
Our stressful, pain-filled experiences are not caused
by people or events but by our reactions to them. And yet, if we
will honestly examine the way we presently question our defeats,
here's what we see: we are still desperately seeking answers that
serve only to correct the surface or exterior conditions. We are
still blaming circumstances for crushing us. The direction of our
questions proves that we are still thinking incorrectly about our
problems.
This is supremely important to grasp if we wish to change our inner
and outer world. By their very nature, our old questions tend to
make and then keep us victims. They imply that someone or something
outside of ourselves is punishing us. No human being is a victim
of any punishment outside of their own undeveloped life-level from
which their inner reactions are seen as outer attacks. This is why
we must learn to turn our questions into tools for developing self-wholeness
instead of letting them lead us off in the wrong direction.
These new questions are the power that defeats defeat. They alone
assure total victory. Each time you ask the right question about
an inner ache, you receive the new and right result of being released
from the dark deceptions that want you to fight with life. Here
are ten new questions that lead to self-wholeness. Use them to see
the difference between how you used to think and how you will question
defeat from now on. You will win!
Questions for Developing Self-Wholeness
1. Instead of always asking yourself why things always happen to
you, learn to ask: What is it inside of me that attracts these painful
situations?
2. Instead of always asking yourself why things had to go this
way or that way, learn to ask: Why is the way I feel always determined
by external conditions?
3. Instead of always asking yourself how to protect yourself in
challenging situations, learn to ask: What is it in me that always
needs to be defended?
4. Instead of always asking yourself how to clear up your mental
fog, learn to ask: Can confusion know anything about clarity?
5. Instead of always asking yourself what to do about tomorrow
(or the next minute), learn to ask: Can there ever be intelligence
in anxiety or worry?
6. Instead of always asking yourself why so-and-so acts this or
that way, learn to ask: What's inside of me that wants to hurt itself
over how anyone else acts?
7. Instead of always crying out "Why me?" learn to ask:
Who is this "me" that always feels this way?
8. Instead of always asking yourself if you've made the right choice,
learn to ask: Can fear ever make a safe decision?
9. Instead of always asking yourself why doesn't so-and-so see
how wrong they are, learn to ask: Is what I'm feeling about that
person right now good for me? Or them?
10. Instead of always asking yourself how to get others to approve
you, learn to ask: What do I really want, the applause of the crowds
or to quietly have my own life?

The
Healing Power of the Mind - Visualization
by Linda Mackenzie, C.ht., Ph.D. (c)
"A picture is worth a thousand
words." We have heard that saying before. This phrase is
certainly true in the case of visualization. Visualization,
a form of self-hypnosis, is a tool anyone can use to help foster
healing. By providing positive pictures (creative imagery) and
self-suggestion, visualization can change emotions that subsequently
have a physical effect on the body.
Our belief system is based upon the
accumulation of verbal and non-verbal suggestions that have
been gathered throughout our life experience. Through patterns
of repetition and its associated rewards and punishment we learn
to create our own perception of reality. In essence, we therefore
become what we think. In healing, repetitive use of positive
visualization allows access to the "mind-body" connection.
This lets the mind and body work together to foster the healing
process of the body on a physical level.
What is the mind-body connection and
how does it work? When we have an emotion it generates a feeling
that turns into a physical sensation. For example: You are watching
a horror movie, you feel frightened and then get a chill up
your spine. In this case you were getting a negative suggestion
through your sensory perception (sight and sound), that produced
an emotion of fear which turned into the physical sensation
of chills up your spine. Visualization uses positive images
to produce positive emotions that manifest into positive physical
sensations in the body.
Sounds simple, but does it work? Can what
we think actually have an effect on healing? Bodies do react
to the thoughts you make. Our psychological/emotional state
affects the endocrine system. For example, the emotion of fear
is related to adrenaline. If no feeling of fear exists there
is no adrenaline and the same applies in reverse- no adrenaline,
no fear. They work in relationship to each other. Wherever a
thought goes there is a body chemical reaction.
The hypothalamus, the emotional center
of the brain, transforms emotions into physical response. The
receptor of neuropeptides, the hypothalamus also controls the
body's appetite, blood sugar levels, body temperature, adrenal
and pituitary glands, heart, lung, digestive and circulatory
systems. Neuropeptides, the chemical messenger hormones, carry
emotions back and forth between the mind and body. They link
perception in the brain to the body via organs, hormones and
cellular activity. Neuropeptides influence every major section
of the immune system, so the body and mind do work together
as one unit.
The brain is a highly efficient system
that is connected to every cell in your body by billions of
connections. It is divided into two sides - the left, logical
side (words, logic, rational thought) and the right creative
side (imagination and intuition). Day to day circumstances usually
are met in a logical, left brain mode; however by yielding to
the right, creative side of the brain we actually restore balance
in the brain. This allows access to the mind-body connection
to achieve what you want. The right side of the brain automatically
steers you to your goal. It totally accepts what you want to
accomplish without giving an opinion and acts upon it without
judgement. That is why visualization targets the right, creative
side of the brain and not the left, logical side.
Positive thought is essential to producing
positive results. Negative thoughts and emotions lower the immune
system, while positive thought and emotions actually boost the
immune system. To maximize success of visualization as a support
to the healing process, the following suggestions are offered:
Define Your Specific Intention
Visualization puts your intention of what you want to work.
The more specific the intention, the more specific the results.
Remember whatever you believe is what your body will do. So
when you are thinking of your intention make sure it is:
1) Clear 2) Specific 3) Achievable 4) You feel, know and trust
it is being accomplished.
Take Responsibility
Trying to do visualization without taking responsibility will
prove to be futile experience. To accomplish what you want you
must take action and responsibility. Visualization usually takes
about 6 weeks to work. It is done once in the morning and before
bedtime. Some people do see or feel results the very first time
but remember everyone's body and mind are different and so is
the way they process information so have patience. Responsibility
is: 1)Be accountable to and for yourself 2) Make a commitment
3)Do visualization regularly 4) Be persistent and patient
5) " Keep positive
Get Mentally Relaxed
A relaxed state puts allows you direct access to your subconscious
mind. Here are some steps to help you relax:
1) Find a quiet place. 2) Relax in a favorite chair or lie down.
3) Get comfortable and loosen clothing 4)Uncross your arms and
legs 5)Get centered by focusing on the breath and breathing
(this activates the vagus nerve which is the major quieting
nerve in the body) 6) Totally relax your body and mind
Visualize
Visualization for healing is a simple process. Once you are
relaxed the next step is to actualize your visualization.
1) Think of or speak your intention out loud. 2) Close your
eyes and imagine yourself in the healing process or as you want
to be. 3) Watch as your body heals you 4) Feel the healing taking
place 5) Know the healing is being accomplished.
If you have difficulty you may want to try one or more of these
methods:
1) Use creative imagery like seeing the cells in your body healing
you; your immune system fighting off invaders; your pain being
taken away by healing mud 2) Imagine yourself in a very beautiful
place whole, healthy and happy. 3) Try reading scripts from
a visualization or self-hypnosis book 4) Listen to an audio-visualization
tape. Remember many people use hearing as their main method
of sensory perception for learning. 5) Try making your own tape
in your own voice.
Visualization does work to help boost your body back to health.
Don't just work on the body, add the mind to maximize your healing
process with visualization.
This information is intended for general information purposes
only. Individuals with health problems should always seek their
natural health care provider before administrating suggestions
made above. Application of above methods is at the user's discretion
and is totally their responsibility.

April Fool's Day?
On April 1st in 1700, English pranksters
begin popularizing the annual tradition of April Fools Day
by playing practical jokes on each other. Although the day,
also called All Fools Day, has been celebrated for several
centuries by different cultures, its exact origins remain a mystery.
Well there are 3 definitions of a 'fool'. The noun is a person who
acts unwisely or imprudently; a silly person. The verb means trick
or deceive (someone); dupe and the adverb of 'fool' means foolish
or silly. The bible defines a fool as this...'the heart of the wise
inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.' The
right side of the brain is the creative side and the left side of
the brain is the logical side. So the lesson that I am seeing here
is don't be too logical but come from your heart and intuition.
That actually always does lead us in the right direction. Oh sure,
sometimes going with your heart doesn't get you what you want but
it always leads you closer to learning, growth and overcoming a
negative - so that is positive in itself.
Here at HealthyLife.net we don't think anyone
is a fool, but only someone who is on their life path doing the
best they can. Now we do believe that information has power and
if that information is filled with truth and integrity well that
gives you the Power. All our hosts on HealthyLife.net are selected
