Who is Lynn Andrews...

Lynn Andrews is the New York Times and internationally best-selling author of the Medicine Woman Series, which chronicles her three decades of study and work with shaman healers on four continents. Her study of the way of the sacred feminine began with Agnes Whistling Elk and Ruby Plenty Chiefs, Native American healers in northern Canada. Her quest for spiritual discovery continued with a Shaman Curendera of the Mayan Yucatan; an Aboriginal woman of high degree in the Australian Outback or Nepalese healer in the foothills of the Himalayas. Today, she is recognized worldwide as a leader in the fields of spiritual healing and personal empowerment. A shaman healer and mystic, Ms. Andrews is widely acknowledged as a major link between the ancient world of shamanism and modern societies thirst for profound personal healing and a deeper understanding of the pathway to enlightenment.

Lynn is initiated as a member of the Sisterhood of the Shields, 44 women who are healers from cultures as diverse as Panama, Guatemala, Australia, Nepal, North America and the Yucatan. Remaining hidden, the Sisterhood has appointed Ms. Andrews as their public messenger. Passed from generation to generation, their teachings, born of the sacred feminine, have been practiced, guarded and handed down from shaman to apprentice, mother to daughter, for over 5,000 years. Along with her Medicine Woman Series, Lynn has written a total of 21 best selling books and workbooks about her work with these women and their unique and deeply profound teachings.

Together with her teachers, Lynn Andrews is the architect of the Personal Act of Power, finding balance around the sacred wheel of life. She presents these shamanic teachings in her four year program in her Mystery School, a two-year program called Writing Spirit, The School, and provides online courses for conscious dreaming and manifesting your personal acts of power. Lynn hosts annual live gatherings for shamanic healing and empowerment in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and Hawaii, and has led shamanic tours to Egypt, Peru, Alaska, Ireland and other sacred sites around the globe.

The Secret of Transforming Every Troubling Relationship

We all know how it feels when another person - especially someone we say we love - does something we don't like. What happens to the love in a moment like that? It flies out the window as we resist what the other person is doing. They are bringing up reactions in us that make us uncomfortable, and so we push them away, criticize them, and blame them for the way we feel.
It's a common response, but when we do that, we're wasting an opportunity for our own transformation. In that moment I'm being introduced to qualities that I'm presently asleep to in myself: my insistence that things go my way, the part of me that gets easily threatened, etc. Only by seeing these things, can I ever change.

Until we recognize that relationships serve to reveal hidden aspects of ourselves that have been a limitation to enlarging our life, we will not be transformed, nor can our relationships be perfected.

Can I resist any moment in my life and learn from it at the same time? No. If I reject the lesson, I reject life, and if I reject life, I reject the Love that's giving me both life and the lesson.

I'm denying the teacher knocking at my door because living within me is a false teacher, a false body of ideas, that tells me that only what I believe is for me is actually on my side. That level of consciousness has divided life up into good and bad, light and dark, up and down. It draws a line between myself and whatever has come to reveal what stands in my way of knowing an authentically unconditional love - a love that embraces every lesson life brings regardless of how challenging it feels in the moment.
Consider for a moment, what is it about any event that's troubling to me? When you think about it, it isn't really what that person did. I'm troubled because what they did is stirring in me something I don't want to see - like my selfish insistence that everyone must align their behavior with my preferences.

If something's troubling me, it means I came into the moment with that unseen nature, just waiting to be stirred into action. The condition doesn't create the negative consciousness I experience. It reveals the consciousness that's always there.
If the event reveals the consciousness I've brought into the moment, and that consciousness can only resist or hate the moment or someone in it, then that's what I need to recognize. Blaming the event or that person for how I feel changes nothing. If I blame, I miss the lesson in the moment that could transform the nature that makes impossible demands, and then suffers for them.
We're unhappy when we live from a body of unseen psychological demands that require balancing and harmonizing. But so often when the moment of revelation comes to help us harmonize these unseen aspects of ourselves, we reject the teacher and instead, stand with the old, habitual nature that lives in us, insisting that people and events must be what we need them to be so nothing ever bugs us. And in that way we've already assured there will soon be a situation where we get bugged.

So, the real question is, how deeply am I willing to learn in these moments? How willing am I to let the moment change the whole of me, instead of me trying to change a part of you so that I can be at peace?

When we approach our relationships with others with this new wish to learn and be transformed by them, then we will change, and our relationships will be perfected as they're meant to be.

SECRET 1: Think of Your Business as a Service and Overcome Negative Obstacles

The 3 Keys:

- COMMITMENT - means you truly believe in your goal and what you are doing. You've done the planning, organizing, directing,implementing, supervising and controlling. You totally feel, know and trust your commitment to your business. You have the dedication to do what it takes no matter what. Focus on your commitment and then take action. If you're not committed and FOCUSED on your business, then find something else to do. You're wasting your most precious commodity which is - time.

- PERSEVERANCE - When something negative gets in your way, find a way over, around or through it. Don't give up or make excuses. Don't use negative words (I can't, I shouldn't, I wouldn't) change them to positive ones (I can, I shall, I would). Persistence and Perseverance WILL make your business a success. More businesses are successful because of persistence than money.

- OVERCOME FEAR - Make fear your friend and see what it is trying to teach you and learn its lessons. The only way to get over fear is to acknowledge it and walk through it.

SECRET 2: Success = GOOD Business Ethics

- TRUTH - You know what that is. That inner voice that nags you until you accept it. When you follow truth you can't make a mistake. If you don't the lesson truth is trying to teach you will be repeated over and over and over again until you get it right. People feel and recognize truth. For a long term, successful conscious business - use it.

- INTEGRITY - The dictionary says that the meaning of integrity is:
The quality or state of being; of sound moral principle; uprightness; honesty and sincerity.

Recipe of the Month

Lentil Soup

Lentil Soup

Cooking Time: 40-50 minutes, 1-Soup Pot

2 cups lentils
2 tablespoons olive or grapeseed oil
1 medium onion (minced)
1 tablespoon of garlic (minced)
8 cups of water
3 stalks celery (diced)
2 carrots (diced)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon maple syrup
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon all spice
1/4 teaspoon red cayenne pepper

Soak lentils in cold water overnight. Drain lentils.
Heat the oil in a large soup pot. Add onions and garlic. Cook until translucent.
Add lentils and brown for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add water, celery, carrots, lemon juice, salt, pepper, maple syrup and spices and bring to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer slowly about 45 minutes or until lentils are tender.
Remove bay leaf and serve hot.

FOR PUREED LENTIL SOUP: Follow basic recipe and after removing bay leaf, strain lentils through a sieve. Return lentils back into the soup pot and bring back to a boil. Remove from heat and serve hot.
