Life's Secret Lessons
About Real Success
by Guy Finley
Radio Host:"Guy Finley
Live "
2nd Tue every month, 9am PT
|
|
Counter to popular opinion, real success is not measured
by the amount of our possessions. Simply stated, the truth is that
real success -- ultimately the only success -- is determined by
how much we are in actual possession of ourselves. And by the light
of this great fact of life, we can also see that the person who
fears the loss of what he thinks is his success has not truly succeeded.
Why is this the truth? The individual who lives with secret self-defining
fears is not a self-possessing person but rather a person possessed,
often pushed and punished by his fears.
To see the truth of these findings is to realize the need for
a whole new way to succeed in life. And to come upon this new order
of success calls to us to search out a totally different path through
life, a new path we can climb only by calling on a whole new set
of higher actions. We can begin our ascent to securing real success
with the following new action:
We must begin the inner work of consciously proving to ourselves
that there is nothing to fear, instead of allowing our fears to
push us into a never-ending series of fearful actions. This suggested
new action makes more sense the more we gain insight into our present
notion of success; for if we look closely, we can see that contained
right within it, although unseen at present, is the fear of failure.
The real fear behind this idea of failing is our unconscious fear
of losing our familiar, confident sense of self.
As long as what we think of as being our "success" in
life harbors the secret fear of our self somehow being diminished
by the loss of this same external source, then our sense of self
does not belong to us. Under these conditions we are little more
than unsuspecting victims subject to every vagrant wind of change
that blows through the world of our enterprise... not a very pleasant
or promising prospect, is it? Of course not. But it doesn't have
to be this way. We can learn life's secret lessons about the nature
of real success, and follow them all the way to the Real Life that
is their source.

From
the Editor's Desk
As I've come to see it, HealthyLife.Net Radio
Nework is the heart-smart gift that just keeps on giving. We enjoy
providing our listeners with an array of expert information, advice,
and encouragement for creating healthier and happier lives, with
a lineup of popular shows ranging from family & relationships
to creative cuisine to fusion fitness. Plus, you can get all of
the latest and greatest positive news on our HealthyLife.Net News
at 7 program, anchored by Jay Cruz, HealthyLife.Net program director
and host Mon.-Fri at 7am & 7pm or on archive for 24 hours after
9am.
At HealthyLife.Net, you're able to tune in 7 days-a-week, 24 hours-a-day
to hear a variety of intelligent and conscious programming. We invite
you to hear, connect, and talk. Want to discover more about taking
good care of the earth? You'll want to listen in on "Blue Planet
Almanac" with Mike Austin (4th week of the month, Mon., 8am.)
and Dave Egbert's "Living Green Live" (3rd week of the
month, Mon., 8am PT)
This month, I've also gathered up these inspiring bits of advice
to share from HealthyLife.Net show hosts Susun Weed, Dr. Bernie
Siegel, Faith Ranoli, Gloria Gilbere, N.D., and Dr. Lucy Papillon:
Heartfelt Steps Towards a More Positive Outlook
Susun Weed says, "Smile! Depression increases your risk of
both heart attack and stroke. In fact, severe depression is more
strongly linked to stroke risk than high blood pressure, high cholesterol,
smoking cigarettes, being overweight, and nine other known risk
factors. When you smile, your brain makes hormones that make you,
and your heart, feel good. So, smile." Listen to Susun's "Green
Blessings" Mon. 8am PT
"Take a time-out," offers Dr. Bernie Siegel. "Go
for a nature walk. The outdoors is a natural tonic. Or meditate,
listen to music, or give yourself a pep talk." Tune into Bernie's
"Mind Health Matters" program, 1st Tues of the Month,
9am PT.
"Keep a journal and write your fears there. Also keep a gratitude
journal; you'd be amazed at how quickly your world will shift when
you stay focused on what you have instead of what you don't,"
notes Faith Ranoli, host of "Heart & Home Healing,"
Thurs., 1pm PT.
Heart-Smart Foods
Healthy foods benefit body, mind, and spirit. Gloria Gilbère
is a traditional naturopath, homeopath, doctor of natural health,
eco-ergonomist, environmental health consultant, investigative health
journalist, and internationally renowned for her certificated wholistic
skin and body rejuvenation programs for spa and health care professionals.
Tune into Gloria's new "Health Detective" show, beginning
March 1st, airing the 1st Mon. of each month, 9am PT.
Heart-Centered Words for Living on Purpose
Dr. Lucy Papillon says in living successfully from the inside-out,
ask yourself: What do you want to accomplish in this life of yours?
Where do you want to go? Do you want to be in charge of you or allow
others to be in charge? You get to decide and your decision will
definitely affect how you end up feeling about you at the end of
the day. Notice your energy when you get home from your job or work
out or set of errands. Are you feeling the way you want to feel?
Did you follow what you set as your intention before you left? If
you did, you most likely will be feeling even more alive, filled
with vitality, excited about your life than when you left home.
"Breaking Through" with Dr. Lucy Papillon airs the 4th
Tuesday of each month, 2pm PT.
I'd like to offer you these favorite words now: "Wheresoever
you go, go with all your heart"-Confucius. And wherever you
go, keep your dial tuned to HealthyLife.Net, Internet radio's positive
talk leader.

HOST OF
THE MONTH:
Linda
Mackenzie
Health Super Segment Host:
HRN News@7
Host of: Linda Mackenzie Show
Tuesdays, 8am PT
Call in 8:30am-9:00am for Free Reading

| Each
month we focus on one of our great hosts and this month we are talking
to HealthyLife.Net
Founder Linda Mackenzie who is a former datacom engineer and entrepreneur.
She is a 13-year radio host, multibook author, clinical hypnotherapist,
audio/video producer and TV personality. |
|
HL- What in your background prepared
you to start an Internet radio network? Well I've had a varied
background. I owned several companies, had a background in PCs and
datacom networks and was a terrestrial radio host doing a positive
radio show. I wanted to start an all positive network, the time
was right - so I did.
HL-What makes the Internet radio format special for you? It
really helps you to reach the world and doesn't follow the 'behind
the scenes' politics of terrestrial radio stations. This way we
can run the positive programs that traditional radio won't run because
they seem to want sensationalism and their content is sometimes
advertiser driven.
HL- Why do listeners love HealthyLife.Net so much? We are pure
radio for the people and the planet. Even our news show has content
you probably won't find anywhere else. I work very hard getting
top hosts and topics that people want to hear and we are always
open to suggestions. I believe that every person and every thing
has value and we try to honor that. I hope people tune in
to my Health News Super Segment on HRNNews@7 show on Tuesdays between
7-8am PT - I give lots of news on natural health, new nutritional
studies and food safety alerts every week.
HL- You are a psychic. Does this play into what you do? I've
been aware of and using my psychic abilities every day since I was
eight years old, when I saw God. I am now sixty and have also studied
Metaphysics since I was 12. That's a long time to learn, use and
experience the dynamics of all the 17 abilities, unlike many psychics
out there who are just developing their abilities. There IS a difference.
My abilities are ingrained in every moment of my life and I have
given my life over to God a long time ago - so yes I use
my abilities in every moment.
HL-What is your biggest obstacle? Time. Time is man-made and
doesn't exist in the God's world. There is so much I want to share
of the knowledge that I receive and there is just does not seem
to be enough of man-made time to do it all.
HL-Are you working on any projects other than HealthyLife.Net?
Yes. I have 5 books edited and ready to go. Am working on pre-production
for my children's movie and am finishing up a wheat-free dairy free
cookbook.
HL-What do you do in your spare time? I love to read, play
golf, hike and travel. Massages are great too!
HL-What do you wish for your audience? I hope that they pick
up one idea in each show that will help their life or make them
laugh. Then if they spread that idea, well YEAH, we have a domino
effect of positive energy helping people all over the planet.

Lovely
Lentil Loaf
By Kristina Olsen
o 2 C lentils
o 3 medium onions
o 3 medium carrots
o 1 medium red pepper (optional)
o 1-2 stalks celery (optional)
o 6 cloves fresh garlic
o 1½ C oats
o 1 can (12 oz) tomato sauce
o 1 can (12 oz) spaghetti sauce
Split loaf mixture in half and season each half differently:
Loaf One Seasoning
o 1 tsp coarsely-chopped parsley
o ½ tsp mustard
o ½ tsp coarsely-chopped fresh basil
o ½ tsp coarsely-chopped fresh oregano
o ½ tsp cayenne
o ½ tsp celery powder
o 1 tsp black pepper
Loaf Two Seasoning
o 1 T curry powder
o 1 tsp parsley
o 1 tsp black pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil the lentils for about
20 minutes in plenty of water. Coarsely chop all vegetables
and mince garlic. Drain off water and mix lentils with all
the other ingredients (I like to add chopped red peppers
and/or celery if I have it). Put in 2 loaf pans and bake
for about an hour.
Kristina Olsen has been called "one of the most entertaining
and compelling performers on the international folk circuit."
She is known as a fine instrumentalist (acoustic guitar,
steel-body slide guitar, saxophone, concertina, and piano)
as well as a powerful songwriter with a big, bluesy voice.
Quiet Blues is her most recent album, debuting in 2008.
Her mix of string songs in the troubadour tradition, as
well as her hilarious storytelling, make for a diverse and
satisfying musical experience. Born in San Francisco and
raised in Haight-Asbury during the '60s, Kristina's approach
to music and life was formed by that environment of vital
cultural expression, social active, and diverse musical
influences. In 2002, Kristina toured Australia, Scotland
(inc. Celtic Connections Festival), England, Bangladesh
(for a benefit concert), New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
Kristina has been part of a songwriters' group for over
two decades and has taught songwriting, slide guitar and
dance for musicians at adult music camps from Alaska to
NYC to the UK to Australia for over a dozen years as well
as being a frequent contributor to Acoustic Guitar magazine,
writing articles on guitar and performance technique. Like
many modern artists, Kristina isn't easily pigeonholed.
What can't be denied though is her honest enthusiasm for
her craft. Learn more about Kristina and her music at www.kristinaolsen.net.

Health
Tip: IMPROVING
BONE & JOINT HEALTH
By protecting your bone & joint health you may
be able to prevent, minimize or reduce healing time of bone &
joint problems. Normal bone health depends on heredity, nutritional,
lifestyle and hormonal, liver and kidney functional activity.
o Physical exercise usually increases bone growth; lack of exercise
leads to bone loss. Weight training exercises for 30 min. 3-4
times a week is best. Try Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga & walking.
o Foods to avoid or limit: sugar, caffeine, artificial colorings,
flavorings and preservatives, processed foods, processed meats
and fast foods. For arthritis also tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant
and mushrooms. Limit red meat to 3 times a week. Eat right with
a high fiber, mostly vegetarian diet with lots of green, leafy
vegetables.
o Reduce or eliminate alcohol because it promotes bone loss
o Try helpful herbs like boswellia, yucca, willow bark, devils
claw, ginger, tumeric, basil, dandelion, parsley, cumin, oat straw,
stinging nettle and black cohash.
o Use aromatherapy oils like rose, lavender, sage, eucalyptus,
rosemary and benzoin.
o Use dietary supplements such as: A good multi-vitamin; Vitamin
K, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, fish oil, coenzyme Q10, selenium, phosphorus,
calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, boron, silicon, manganese, zinc,
copper, MSM, glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin and green foods
like spirulina, chlorella or blue green algae and collagen.
