Six Ways to Know a False Inner Guide

The journey to the divinity within has its dangers. About this we are clear: the inner path is lined with many trials and pitfalls. But there is nothing to be feared in this foreknowledge; in truth, these encounters are actually stages of initiation; they are necessary points along the upper path where the aspirant reaches - again and again - the proverbial "fork in the road."

A great confusion usually clouds these unwanted moments, made all the worse by yet another challenge that is itself a part of the path less taken: the aspirant can't see down either path, as a kind of darkness shrouds the entrance to both.

It is always in these moments that the aspirant feels most frightened and alone. A mounting despair strengthens the sense of fatigue; an outpouring of stressful thoughts and worried feelings deny, decry, and try to console all at once. But the main question remains, which we'll put in the first person:

How can I tell which of the two paths is the true one? Which leads to the immortal Self, and which is a one-way ticket back to being "me" again? And how do I know which - if any - of these "voices" in my head telling me, "This is the way," or "No, go that way," is offering me the right instruction?

I short, how can I tell the difference between a true inner guide and a false one? Is there a way to know, with some certainty which of these guides can see through this darkness, and which one is blinded by it? The answer is "Yes."

The following six ways are designed to help you tell the difference between a false inner guide and a true one. Use the light these insights provide to help you make it, safe and sound, all the way back home to your immortal Self.

1. The true inner guide fears no outcome, while the false inner guide can't stop trying to protect itself from its own imagined fears.

2. The true inner guide quietly invites you to take a new direction, while the false inner guide first pressures, and then pushes you in the direction that it wants you to take.

3. The true inner guide is unshakable, collected, and composed, while the false inner guide is always on the verge of coming unglued.

4. The true inner guide never tries to "talk" you into an action, while the false inner guide can't stop talking about the action it wants you to take.

5. The true inner guide understands that you must make mistakes along the way, while the false inner guide judges, harshly, every misstep.

6. The true inner guide remains open and receptive to any life lesson, no matter how unwanted, while the false inner guide shuts down and rejects any revelation that threatens its self-flattering image.

Every month we talk to one of our great show hosts. This month we are talking with Dr. Gloria Gilbere. Dr. Gloria, is world-renown on discovering causes, effects and non-drug solutions for illnesses, disorders and conditions.


HL: Why did you become a Naturopath/Homeopath Doctor/Wholistic Rejuvenist?

Because I suffered from debilitating migraines since childhood and then later was mercury poisoned after working in dentistry for 11 years. I dedicated my professional life to finding causes of my disorders, NOT simply symptom-care that kept leading to drug-management – serving only to add to my body’s overall toxic burden. That’s also why becoming a “Health Detective” and creating post-graduate courses for health professionals to become certified in Wholistic Rejuvenation became my passion.

HL: Do you specialize in certain illnesses?

Yes, causes, effects and natural solutions to inflammatory – digestive – and
chemically-induced immune system disorders.

HL: How do you help someone discover what's wrong with them?

1st by an in-depth health questionnaire and 90 minute telephone interview. 2nd by creating an individualized nutritional and supplemental plan for the initial 90-day Wholistic Rejuvenation Protocols because “We Are What We Eat” – this is where
“Health thru Education” comes in because they need to understand the consequences of what they eat and are exposed to environmentally. 3rd by bi-weekly telephone and/or email follow-up sessions (for 90-days) to guide and support them on their journey so we can make adjustments as needed. 4th providing them with handouts, eBooks and other natural health information to help them succeed long-term in their lifestyle modifications.

HL: How is diet important to health?

It IS the basis of health or dis-ease because we ARE what we eat. I teach them what food groups are scientifically known to accelerate inflammation and tasty healthy alternatives and provide recipes when appropriate. In addition, I underscore the
importance of eating “Live” food so that it’s not loaded with preservatives, additives, coloring, flavor enhancers and all their legal alias simply meant to add to the manufacturer’s “bottom line profits” with no concern about toxic effects exemplified by their deceptive labeling meant to blind-sight the uninformed consumer.

HL: What historical figure do you most identify with?

Dr. Bernard Jensen and Nutritionist Hazel Parcells – they were both light years ahead in their teachings.

HL: What types of things do you cover on your radio show?

I pride myself in presenting “Health thru Education” – not simply telling my audience to make specific changes or add or avoid certain things in their lives but rather why and what is health-enhancing or health-depleting. I present my latest research, clinical experiences and what my investigative work uncovers in my two locations based in the U.S. in Idaho at my Institute for Wholistic Rejuvenation AND in my Health Sciences / Research Division now based in Cotacachi, Ecuador, South America. Teaching, Researching and Consulting globally gives me a unique perspective of natural health to share with my audience – many re-discoveries that are centuries old.

HL: What do you like to do to relax?

Travel to learn and experience new perspectives of culture and health. Cooking is my therapy and sharing it with friends who are interested in natural health and in discovering new food frontiers, especially now that I’m also in South America with its rich history and indigenous people who are so willing to share what they’ve naturally lived for centuries. I’m fortunate that for the first time I’m able to use my first language – Spanish, thanks to my paternal grandmother who insisted I learn it before English even though I was born and raised in Southern California.

Recipe of the Month

Essiac tea is said to have been an original ancient recipe made by the Ojibwe tribes of Native Americans who populate areas of Canada and the northern United States. It was referred to as the “Ojibwa Tea of Life.” A Canadian nurse, Rene Caisse, was the first to use it to help her patients who were recovering from various forms of cancer. Essiac, given its name by Rene Caisse ("caisse" spelt backwards), consists of four main herbs that grow in the wilderness of Ontario, Canada. Used as a dietary supplement Essaic may enhance immune function and is a concentrated source of antioxidants.

LENTIL SOUP

Cooking Time: 40-50 minutes, 1-Soup Pot

2 cups lentils
2 tablespoons olive or grapeseed oil
1 medium onion (minced)
1 tablespoon of garlic (minced)
8 cups of water
3 stalks celery (diced)
2 carrots (diced)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon maple syrup
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon all spice
1/4 teaspoon red cayenne pepper

Soak lentils in cold water overnight. Drain lentils.
Heat the oil in a large soup pot. Add onions and garlic. Cook until translucent.
Add lentils and brown for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add water, celery, carrots, lemon juice, salt, pepper, maple syrup and spices and bring to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer slowly about 45 minutes or until lentils are tender.
Remove bay leaf and serve hot.

FOR PUREED LENTIL SOUP: Follow basic recipe and after removing bay leaf, strain lentils through a sieve. Return lentils back into the soup pot and bring back to a boil. Remove from heat and serve hot.

JANUARY - Strength and New Beginnings

The Holidays are the time when we scurry around getting presents, attending holiday parties and family gatherings. A fun time of year for sure. However this is the time of year when we should welcome into our lives the Gratitude and the Grace of the season. We need to remember that we can (and should) carry the Joy of the season into each and every day of our lives. Lighting up our lives this gratitude, grace and joy can help sustain us during our own roller coaster ride that we may experience in the coming year, as well as, helping the whole and aid in overcoming the negativity on the planet. It all starts with a personal choice to select the positive in each and every moment - and you get to make that choice over and over again. Pertaining to the holidays if you would like to extend the positive you might want to see if you know of someone who will be alone for the holidays. If yes, then try to include them in some of your festivities. Help spread that joy so that the accumulated energy of love and happiness spreads out all around us and infects even the most negative of Scrooges to rethink the values of their lives towards the positive. It is only by eliminating fear and maintaining an evolution to the positive that we will actually be able to make a difference energetically to the world. In addition, since money is just a vehicle for the movement of energy - use it to support positive businesses that support humanity, rather than negative business who exploit humanity. The power that we can exert by positive action and positive placement of money can change the world to where we want it to be - which is for the greater good of all - which actually helps us since we are all connected.
